Suhadee Henriquez

"Your Personal Flying Psychotherapist"

Welcome aboard!

I’m Suhadee (Su) Henriquez, also known as The Flying Psychotherapist.

My work is shaped by two professional worlds: over two decades in aviation and years of clinical psychotherapy practice across multiple U.S. states.

Before becoming a licensed clinical social worker, I spent years as a flight attendant navigating high-pressure environments at 35,000 feet — supporting anxious passengers, managing turbulence, and operating within one of the most safety-driven industries in the world. That lived experience deeply informs how I practice today. I understand fear not only academically, but operationally.

As a psychotherapist, I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and exposure-based treatment. I specialize in fear of flying, anxiety, panic, trauma, depression, ADHD, and emotional regulation — helping clients build internal systems of safety so they can move through life’s turbulence with clarity and confidence.

In addition to my clinical practice, I consult with aviation regulators and safety leaders to strengthen psychological safety within high-stakes operational systems. My work centers on advancing robust Just Culture frameworks — systems built on transparency, accountability, and continuous learning rather than blame. Psychological safety must be the foundation of any sustainable safety culture. I am committed not only to supporting these frameworks at the organizational level, but also to teaching individuals how to internalize them — how to build an inner Just Culture where mistakes become information, accountability replaces self-attack, and growth becomes intentional rather than reactive.

This philosophy extends into every space I enter. I teach those who work with me how to develop personal systems of regulation — integrating mental health fitness, physical resilience, body strengthening, and cognitive flexibility so they can navigate uncertainty, pressure, and change with steadiness and intention. Whether you are preparing for a flight, leading a team, strengthening your emotional regulation, or seeking tools for overall well-being, my goal is to help you build your own internal checking system — one that supports your central nervous system rather than keeping it in constant activation.

When I’m not working with clients or consulting in aviation safety environments, you’ll find me exploring new destinations (yes, I still love to fly), practicing mindfulness, or spending time with my family. My mission is simple: to help you take control of your fears and rediscover the freedom that comes from internal stability.

My work is not about eliminating fear.

It is about strengthening the internal and systemic structures that allow you to navigate it.

Welcome aboard.
